1 DAY – CLASSROOM (MAX 4)     <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

A one-day course<\/strong> for anyone who owns a fixed or hand-held marine VHF radio<\/span>.<\/p>\n

We limit numbers to maximum<\/span> of 4 <\/span>students to ensure the best experience and practice.    (If you want a group large this can be arranged but will be over 2 days.)<\/p>\n

RYA SRC VHF Radio Course <\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

The Short Range Certificate<\/strong> i<\/span>s the minimum qualification required by law to operate a <\/strong>VHF radio<\/strong> <\/span>fitted with Digital Selective Calling (DSC) on any British vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio.<\/p>\n

A radio is an important piece of safety equipment on board and it is vital to understand the correct procedures. Unnecessary transmissions could block out a Mayday distress call.<\/p>\n

All new VHF sets are either fitted, or can be interfaced, with DSC<\/strong> allowing calls to specific vessels. If you hold the \u2018old\u2019 VHF licence (pre-1999) you need to upgrade your qualification if you purchase new equipment. This can be done by attending this one-day course or doing the online course.<\/p>\n
